All games are 7:00 p.m. Unless otherwise indicated

Friday November 6

Angelus League

St. Paul (5-4, 2-2) at Cathedral (8-1, 3-1)

If Cathedral was going to fall again it would have been last week to Harvard-Westlake. I don’t know if the Phantoms have enough to win it all but they do have enough to beat St. Paul. Phantoms win going away.

Harvard-Westlake (6-3, 3-1) at Salesian (5-4, 2-2)

Harvard-Westlake needs this one to assure a spot in the post season. The Wolverines have to be careful with Salesian. The Mustangs have jumped up to bite before. Not this time. Harvard-Westlake takes care of business, gets the W.

St. Francis (6-3, 2-2) at La Salle (4-5, 0-4)

St. Francis looks like a team on the rise. The Golden Knights struggled in their first two league games but have rebounded when it counts. They aren’t about to let La Salle stand in their way of a playoff berth. St. Francis rolls to third straight victory.

San Gabriel Valley League

Lynwood (4-5, 0-4) at Warren (7-2, 3-1)

I was surprised by the debacle at Dominguez but can the Bears bounce back? Of course. They’re 7-2 overall and didn’t get here by accident. Everybody has a bad game. They got theirs out of the way last week. Warren can still earn a share of a title with a win over Lynwood. Warren finishes strong.

Warren 27 Lynwood 13

Paramount (5-4, 2-2) at Downey (6-3, 3-1)

Downey can also grab a piece of the league crown. The Vikes got stung by Warren two weeks ago but rebounded last week to put Gahr away. They need to be careful. Paramount won’t roll over. The Pirates fell to Warren by just three and Dominguez by six. They’ll give Downey a battle as well but the Vikings learned their lesson against Warren. They won’t lose focus here. Vikes earn the victory.

Downey 24 Paramount 17

Pacific League

Burbank (7-2, 5-1) at Burroughs (8-1, 6-0)

Burbank may be playing it’s best football of the season right now. The one point loss to Muir seems like months ago. Burroughs is coming off a 34-3 rout of Crescenta Valley and is looking to run the Pacific table. It will be anything but easy but Burroughs will prevail. Indians have more weapons.

Burroughs 28 Burbank 21

Arcadia (5-4, 4-2) at Crescenta Valley (6-3, 4-2) at Glendale

Huge game for both teams as they fight it out for third place. Even the loser of this game should get in the playoffs but a win makes for an easier path. Both teams can score but both have also struggled at times offensively. Arcadia continues it’s remarkable turn around season. CV may lead early but Arcadia pulls the upset late.

Del Rio League

Santa Fe (4-5, 3-1) at Whittier (5-4, 2-2) at Pioneer

Santa Fe needs a win to secure second in the Del Rio. Whittier has looked solid at times (a win over Cal) and suspect at others (a blow out loss to La Serna.) Should be a battle, Whittier will hang around for awhile. But in the end the Chiefs look good for second.

Santa Fe 21 Whittier 17
