(Montebello) – Montebello completed a perfect 5-0 run in the Almont League with a 35-8 rout of Alhambra Friday night at home.

Ryan Rivera completed 7 of 11 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown before giving way to Eric Bruesch. Bruesch was 6 of 14 for 107 yards and three scores. Andy Brown (4- 82 yards) and Jose Teodocio (5-68 yards) both had two touchdown receptions.

Montebello had 340 total yards – 187 passing and 153 rushing.

For Alhambra Joe Santana ran for 45 yards on 13 carries which gave him 1023 yards for the season. Santana is the first Alhambra running back to rush for over 1000 yards since 2007 when Anthony Brown and Shawn Smith both accomplished that feat.

The Moors only score came on a screen pass from Julio Garcia to Dominic Wilson that went for 75 yards with less than six minutes to go in the game.

Montebello finished 9-1 overall and will host a first round playoff game. Alhambra finished 4-6 overall and was fourth in the Almont at 2-3.
