Suh Happy! Ndamukong Suh is going to look great in Ram colors next season.

Good Morning!

T-Minus-262 Days until “The Mid Valley Classic”

How come no one is on our case yet to produce a high school basketball top 10, 20, or 30?

Crack Mid Valley JUCO guy Duane “Bad News” Barker reports that no more than six local players on nearby JC basketball rosters this winter on the mens side.

Whatever, not much of a New Year’s Eve guy…not down with it at all…I have an allergy to being around drunk people…

On the other hand, I do love New Year’s Day, just not as much as I used to… When it was the Fiesta, Cotton, Rose, Sugar, and Orange Bowls it was great…Now all of these minor jobs, and the the majors now spread out over the first week…yawn…

“Not slinging it as much anymore,” said former Los Angeles Rams quarterback Vince Ferragamo at the Holiday Bowl. Ferragamo, a Nebraska alum, is currently running quarterback camps in Orange County.

Question: How does Whittier Daily News sports writer Andrew Campa leave Whittier Christian DT Jeff Worthy off his paper’s all area team. Bad form Mr. Campa, bad form…

You know its bowl season when you see Brent Musburger shopping at the Glendale Galleria… I asked what he thought of the crowd at the mall and he said; “You are seeing what greatness is all about!”

Okay…

Got a nice preview of future Rams number one pick Ndamukong Suh Wednesday night. Yes, he qualifies as a big dude…and he handled the media well…

Had to back away from the scrum at midfield talking to Suh after the game…Maybe its the gray hair, maybe its something else…but the way the press crunched down on him made me feel common…And who wants to be common?…And who wants to trowel so desperately for a quote…Again, it was time to rethink about how things are done.

Finishing up the Top 20 MVL games of all time…and like I mentioned in a post I had planned on listing them chronologically…but I thought it would create more hostility if I placed them from best to last… It’s been much tougher than I thought…

Then again, were going to have to come up with a top list of games played for the Old School as well…then the all decade teams…then all decade teams for the local schools…Cool…we should be done in time for Zero Week next season.

You want a team of the decade? Cut me some slack, I still have to work in this neighborhood… 2001: Rosemead Panthers? 2004: Arroyo Knights? 2005: South El Monte Eagles? (remember Mead went 10-0 in the regular season that year) 2008: Panthers?

Seeing Florida State HC Bobby Bowden put the firey lance into the ground before the Gator Bowl was cool. I’ve never been a Seminole fan, but I’ve always admired the rider on horseback firing the lance into the ground before each game…a lesser school would have buckled by now…and fired a flaming asparagus or something…

JoeStaDamus Prediction of the Day: Oregon works Ohio State…

Last Add Holiday Bowl: Besides Cal High’s Nic Grigsby, former Schurr plow horses Mike Diaz and Phillip Garcia were with Arizona. Garcia, redshirting, has another year with the Wildcats.

If you need a little referencing help, Diaz and Garcia were Jesse “Gordo” Ramirez’s lead blockers when he ran for 2000-yards in 2003 and 2004 for the Spartans.

Stay thirsty my friends…
