1. Gary Vitti, the Lakers trainer for the last 32 years, will join Kobe Bryant in retirement after this season.
2. The Dodgers are set to sign right-handed pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma to a three-year, $45 million deal.
3. Johnny Manziel is again named the starter for the Cleveland Browns. It’s the third time Manziel has been named the starter and the sixth time the Browns have changed quarterbacks this season.
4. The Lakers lose to Minnesota 123-122 in overtime to fall to 3-19.
5. J.J. Redick scores 31 points to lead the Clippers to a 109-95 win over Milwaukee.
6. The Oakland Raiders sign Michael Crabtree to a four-year, $32 million extension.
7. “I hope whatever settlement is worked out between Sark’s mouthpieces and whatever SC brings to bear includes a repayment for all of those shots of Patron he sucked up on his expense account.” – MVS Commenter Oso Viejo.
8. Clemson’s Dabo Swinney wins Coach of the Year honors.
9. Damien is off to a 5-0 start under first year head coach Mike LeDuc. LeDuc spent 35 years as the head coach at Glendora before leaving for Damien last May.
10. On this day in 2005 USC running back Reggie Bush wins the Heisman Trophy. Bush is later forced to forfeit the trophy by the NCAA.
