Jordan Hill scored 14 points for Rams
(Temple City) – Caleb Halversen scored 16 points and Jordan Hill added 14 as Temple City ran Alhambra off the floor Tuesday night 73-54.
Halversen scored nine of his 16 in the second quarter as the Rams jumped out to a 44-27 lead. Halversen knocked down two threes and Harriman Chiang, Matt Valazza and Zach Aquino also all nailed three balls in a 28 point second quarter.
Aquino hit a pair of treys and scored eight points in the first quarter to get TC off and running with a 16-10 lead.
Hill got into the act in the third. He hit three consecutive buckets in transition and when Chiang buried another one from downtown, the Rams had built a 22 point lead.
Temple City hit ten three pointers overall and the Moors were unable to keep up. Alhambra managed to cut the lead down to 12 in the fourth quarter but that was as close as the Moors would get.
Aquino finished with 13, Chiang had 9 and Valazza 8. Alhambra was led by Chris Acosta with 16. Acosta scored nine of his 16 in the fourth quarter. Steve Wei had 9 and Tony Dang, Jason Wong and Victor Huang all chipped in seven.
Temple City improved to 5-5 with the win and will face Monrovia in the Rio Hondo League opener Friday night. Alhambra dropped to 2-13.
