1. By a 30-2 vote the NFL owners approve the Rams move to Inglewood for the 2016 season; the Chargers have the option to join them. If the Chargers decline than the Raiders would have that option to join the Rams as well.

2. The LA Galaxy reached agreement on a free agent contract with forward Alan Gordon who is a 12 year MLS veteran.

3. Bill Snyder, 76, has announced he will return to Kansas State as Head Coach next season.

4. “I wouldn’t be surprised if Nick Saban leaves Alabama for the New York Giants this week.”  – College football analyst Rick Neuheisel.

5. Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith, who led the team in tackles, and this year won the Butkus Award winner given to the nation’s best linebacker, will skip his final year of eligibility and enter the NFL draft.

6. Pittsburgh Steeler quarterback Ben Roethlisberger confirmed he has a sprain and torn ligaments in his throwing shoulder. His status is still listed as day to day as the Steelers prepare for the Sundays AFC divisional-round game in Denver.

7. “I’m an ex Bengal and I’m absolutely embarrassed by the way they conducted themselves on the field. It was disgraceful.” – Boomer Esiason.

8. Former Butler Center Andrew Smith, a key player on two Final Four teams, passed away of cancer Tuesday at the age of 25.

9. On this day in 1974 the Miami Dolphins beat the Minnesota 24-7 in Super Bowl VIII in Houston. Larry Csonka is named MVP.

10. Also on this day in 1999 Michael Jordan announces his retirement only to return in 2001.
