(Glendora) – Roman Silva scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Diamond Ranch to a 53-48 win over Chaminade to capture the CIF Division 3A title.
Silva, a 7 foot 1 senior, was able to offset Chaminade freshman center Makur Maker who finished with 19 points and nine boards.
The Eagles cut the D-Ranch lead to 46-45 late in the fourth quarter with a 9-0 run but Silva responded with a three point play and the Panthers held on for their first CIF championship.
