  1. NCAA tournament gets underway with #16 seeds Florida Gulf Coast and Fairleigh Dickinson playing at 3:40pm and #11 seeds Vanderbilt and Wichita St face-off at 6:10pm.
  2. UC Irvine is in the CIT tournament and plays on Thursday night.
  3. UCLA Women’s basketball will host the First and Second Rounds of the NCAA tournament on March 19 &21. They are seeded #3 in the Bridgeport bracket.
  4. Jonathan Quick sets an American goalie record with his 41st-career shutout in LA Kings 5-0 road win over Chicago.
  5. UCONN, Baylor, South Carolina and Notre Dame are #1 seeds in the NCAA Women’s tournament.
  6. With 14 games remaining in the NHL season, the Kings lead the Ducks by two points and still have one more game scheduled against Anaheim.
  7. St. Paul’s girls basketball team has not lost since February 9. It was to eventual CIF Division 4-A champion St. Anthony.
  8. On this day in 1988, the St. Louis Cardinals move to Phoenix.
  9. Former La Canada Quarterback Rocky Moore turns 25 today.
