(La Mirada) – For La Mirada CB/WR Elijah Hicks it’s been a busy off season. He not only has to concern himself with work in the classroom and physical training but he has to keep track of all the college offers that he is receiving as well.
That alone is going to keep him occupied. He has received not one, not two but 12 offers so far to play at the next level with more expected to follow. He has the skills to compete on the field, that much is clear. But he’s performing in the classroom as well with a 4.0 GPA.
“He’s got a great body, 6’0, 180 lbs, he’s long and athletic,” said La Mirada coach Mike Moschetti. “He’s physical and he constantly plays with a chip on his shoulder. And he takes his academics very seriously as you can see with a 4.0 last semester. He’s a competitor.”
Who has offered Hicks so far? Ok here we go… Harvard, Yale, Wyoming, South Carolina, UCLA and Arizona…take a breath… California, Arizona State, Colorado, Washington State, Oregon State and Boise State.
For Hicks, who will be a senior in September, he has the football thing and the classroom stuff covered. Now he will deal with the decision of where he will play football in 2017. It’s a good problem to have.
