(Temple City)– Arroyo arrived at North Field and showed little mercy in a 50-0 romp over Temple City on Friday night.

The Knights built a 36-0 lead at the end of the first half. The Rams coaching staff was offered a running clock to start the third quarter but turned it down. When the fourth quarter came, the running clock was enforced.

Devin Knight scored the first of his three touchdowns on a pair of short runs in the first quarter to make it 14-0.

Yezdan Marquez caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Jason Villa with 11:52 to play in the second quarter. Arroyo increased its advantage to 23-0 when Daniel Mendoza blocked a punt that went out of the end zone.

Seven minutes later Devin Knight scored his third touchdown on a 7-yard pass from Villa.

Then with 1:35 to go in the half Steven Ocariz plowed in from a yard out and the score was 36-0.

Temple City’s seven first-half possessions concluded as follows: Turnover on downs, punt, punt, punt (blocked), interception, interception, and turnover downs.

In the fourth Ernesto Camacho scored on a 1-yard run and Nathan Dang pushed in from 2-yards out.

Arroyo’s Villa finished 12 of 23 for 202 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

The victory improved Arroyo to 2-0. The Knights game with Covina finished in a 17-17 tie last Saturday night, but this week Covina forfeited the game because of an illegal player.

Next week Arroyo travels to Hart.

Temple City fell to 0-2 and have been outscored 92-14. The Rams travel to Alhambra in Week Two.
