1. New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees agrees to a two-year, $44.25 million extension.

2. The Denver Broncos sign wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders to a three-year, $33 million extension.

3. U.S Swimmer Ryan Lochte has been suspended 10 months for his involvement in a late night incident at the Rio Olympic games last month.

4. Iowa football HC Kirk Ferentz signs a six-year contract extension through 2025. Ferentz is in his 18th season as the Hawkeyes head coach.

5. Arizona received a verbal agreement from DeAndre Ayton, one of the top basketball prospects of the 2017 class. Ayton plays at Hillcrest Academy in Phoenix.

6. “Former SGHS and Dakota Wesleyan standout Arthur Brown is now coaching at Lower Burle High in South Dakota.” – MVS Commenter “NWO”.

7. Arcadia at Monrovia, Friday Night 7:00 p.m. Last Year: Monrovia 60 Arcadia 45.

8. Arcadia sophomore running back Jahlique Stephens vs. Bell Gardens in Zero Week: 11 carries – 324 yards, 5 TD.

9. Blair has only nine games on the schedule. Last week, in the season opener the Vikings lost to Angelou 46-3.

10. On this date in 1985 Pete Rose ties Ty Cobb for first place on the all-time hit list with 4,191.
