3. California Chrome and Stellar Wind both win Grade I stakes at Santa Anita over the weekend. Found wins Arc De’Triomphe Stakes to stamp herself favorite in Breeder’s Cup Turf.
4. The Minnesota Vikings improve to 4-0 and remain one of three teams still unbeaten along with Philadelphia and Denver.
5. The Baltimore Orioles face the Toronto Blue Jays in AL Wild Card game. The Winner faces Texas beginning Thursday.
6. Barry Bonds is fired after one season as the hitting coach for the Miami Marlins.
7. Justin Forsett is released for the second time this season by the Baltimore Ravens.
8. ACC is monitoring games that could be effected by Hurricane Matthew on the East Coast.
9. On this day in 2001, Rickey Henderson scored his 2,246th career run to break Ty Cobb’s record.
