Ronald Jones II muscles his way to a big night!

(Los Angeles) The USC Trojans piled up 398 yards on the ground and pounded the Cal Golden Bears 45-24 Thursday night at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Ronald Jones II got the start at tailback for USC with Justin Davis sidelined due to injury. Jones was up to the task rushing for 223 yards on 18 carries and a touchdown and added two receptions for 18 yards with another score.

Aca’ Cedric Ware also got in on the Trojan track meet carrying the ball 20 times for 130 yards.

If all the action on the ground wasn’t enough, Sam Darnold had another solid performance hitting on 18 of 25 passes for 231 yards and five touchdowns. Darnold now has had back-to-back games with five touchdown passes bringing his season total to 18.

Darnold’s favorite target on the night was Darreus Rogers who caught six passes for 97 yards and two touchdowns.

Los Angeles Ram first round pick and back-up quarterback Jeff Goff was on hand to see his replacement Davis Webb complete 34 of 53 passes for 33 yards and two scores.

Webb connected on nine of those passes to former Paraclete Spirit Melquise Stovall who got the start as the slot receiver. Stovall tallied 87 yards on those nine catches and added a touchdown. On the year Stovall has caught 39 passes for 396 yards and three td’s.
