8. Alabama has lost three backup quarterbacks to transfer since September when Jalen Hurts took over as the starter. Blake Barnett announced he was going to Arizona State this week, David Cornwell said Wednesday he was transferring and Cooper Bateman is also planning to leave the program.

9. Maranatha junior forward Chris Austin is averaging 22 points and five rebounds in the first four games of the season.

10. “A game between us would be awesome. I think we had better athletes then this team but a 2nd year Chris (MacMillan) and Jim (Singsier) are no match for the seasoned vets that coach and prepare this team now. I would transfer too. You get one chance to play college football. I’d rather go somewhere and play than stay at Alabama and watch. If you want to impress pro scouts, you can’t do it from the bench. Especially at qb, where playing time doesn’t get shared, getting stuck behind another pro prospect is a terrible position.

And please don’t say anything about “loyalty”. There’s no such thing in college ball. Nick Saban wouldn’t think twice about cutting a kid who’s not good enough, so a player shouldn’t feel beholden to the program either.

I guess if you sign with Alabama and don’t start it is off to another program. Good thing Sam Darnold stuck around.
