5. Former LA Galaxy forward Alan Gordon signs with Colorado as a free agent.
6. Happy birthday to former Schurr High, ELAC and Southern Utah quarterback Aaron Cantu. Cantu shares his birthday with former Bishop Amat, USC and LA Ram quarterback Pat Haden.
7. The Mt. View Vikings are a top the Mission Valley League in boys basketball with a record of 13-8 overall and 5-1 in league.
8. On this day in 1979 Willie Mays was elected to the MLB Hall of Fame.
9. Rutgers will have the most alumni represented in Super Bowl LI. Four players and a coach. Mohamed Sanu for the Falcons and Duron Harmon, Devin McCourty, Ryan Logan and Steve Belichik (safeties coach) for the Patriots.

Alonzo Ball’s highwire act is gonna get him highlight reels but will cost his team wins. He is making the other Bruins play his game rather than just fitting in. The 3’s are nice but you better be wide open and to often they are thrown up off balance. You can’t have a high wire act where all five guys are spinning through the air, some guys have to catch them or they splatter on the ground.
