1. Former South El Monte/Cathedral RB Marcos Lopez graduated from Air Force Bootcamp on January 13th and has been accepted into the Air Force Nursing program.

2. The Dodgers acquire second baseman Logan Forsythe from the Tampa Bay Rays for pitcher Jose De Leon.

3. Tiger Woods, who has played in one tournament in the last 18 months, will play in the Farmers Insurance Tournament at Torrey Pines beginning Thursday.

4. In the last eight years, La Mirada football has had 50 players make first team All CIF.

5. The Lakers, at 16-32, are last in the Western Conference.

6. Thousands of mourners, including Pedro Martinez and David Ortiz, pay their respects to Kansas City Royal pitcher Yordano Ventura in the Dominican Republic Tuesday. Ventura, 25, died in a car accident early Sunday morning.

7. East-West SGV All-Star Game, Friday night, 7:00 p.m. – West Covina High School.

8. On this day in 1998 the Denver Broncos beat the Green Bay Packers 31-24 in Super Bowl XXXII.

9. Happy Birthday to former Denver Broncos guard (Super Bowl XXXII) Mark Schlereth who turns 51 today.

    The Lakers chased Mike D’Antoni out of town and now the ‘seven seconds or less’ guys looks like a genius in Houston. Maybe when Walton is shown the door, he’ll go elsewhere and shine.
