(Glendora)- Adrian Tovalin belted three home runs and had nine RBI to lead Azusa Pacific to a 16-3 rout of Fresno Pacific Friday night in the second game of a doubleheader.

Tovalin got the Cougars started in the first inning by hammering a grand slam home run. Josh Acosta started the game for Fresno Pacific but left with an injury after walking lead off hitter Mychael Goudreau. Carson Schellenberg came on and walked O’Connor and Justin Gomez. Tovalin then set the tone for the evening as he delivered the bomb to right center for a 4-0 lead.

The Cougars added another run in the first when Michael Staudinger doubled and scored on a ground ball by Nick Estrella.

Azusa Pacific blew it wide open in the fifth when Cam Bennett singled, Goudreau drew another walk and O’Connor powered a three-run home run to right field. Brian Magana doubled and Tovalin launched his third of the game-a two run blast to left field. Just like that it was 13-3.

O’Connor’s two- run dinger in the sixth made it 16-3.
