1. UCLA’s Sweet Sixteen appearance is the third in four years for the Bruins under Steve Alford.

2. Former San Francisco 49ers’ wide receiver Dwight Clark announced that he has Lou Gehrig’s disease and suspects that playing football may have caused it.

3. Former Temple City star forward/center Rico Harris, who was once considered an NBA prospect and received a scholarship to play for Arizona State in 1995, drove away from his mother’s Alhambra home on October 10, 2014 and hasn’t been heard from since. He is still considered missing.

4. Hall of Fame running back Gale Sayers has been diagnosed with dementia. His wife Ardythe told the Kansas City Star that she blames his football career for the disease. The former Chicago Bars star, 73, played seven years in the NFL from 1965 through 1971.

5. Tim Tebow will start the season with the New York Mets’ Class A franchise in Columbia, SC after spring training breaks.

6. Barry Bonds returns to the San Francisco Giants as a special advisor the team announced.

7. UCLA vs. Kentucky – Sweet Sixteen matchup Friday in Memphis, 6:40 p.m.

8. USA advances to its first WBC title game with a 2-1 win over Japan. USA vs. Puerto Rico today 6:00 p.m.

9. The Clippers rout the Lakers 133-109 Tuesday night at Staples Center.

10. Sportscaster Bob Costas turns 65 today.
