THE TEN (NEW)(“The Ten” is not a top ten, but ten items worth being included in The TEN)

1.) The Los Angeles Dodgers option outfielder Trayce Thompson to Oklahoma City.

2.) On this date in 2015, the Chicago Cubs demoted Kris Bryant to minor league camp to gain an extra year of free-agent eligibility.

3.) Los Angeles Lakers, 21-54, have lost 17 of their last 19 games.

4.) Former Los Angeles Dodger reliever Paco Rodriguez has been released by the Atlanta Braves. Rodriguez, who had “Tommy John Surgery” in October of 2015, was a second round pick in 2012. He made his MLB debut in September that season and pitched in 76 games for the Dodgers in 2013.

5.) Baltimore Ravens head coach, John Harbaugh leading a committee of coaches meeting with NFL and Players Union says; league must re-think off season ban on workouts and meetings with players. That it is hurting quality of game and that coaches need more ‘teaching time,’ and more OTA workouts on field.

6.) UCLA freshman forward T.J. Leaf files for NBA Draft.

7.) Ron Brown, Baldwin Park HS, Olympic gold medal winner and former Los Angeles Rams receiver, turns 56 today.

8.) On this day in 1973 Ken Norton defeated Muhammed Ali in a 12 round split decision.

9.) On this date in 1987, Indiana beats Syracuse 74-73 on Keith Smart’s baseline jumper.

    Re; #7 I wonder if guys like Ron Brown from Baldwin Park ever goes back and talk to the local kids to encourage that anyone can , no matter the powerhouse or neighborhood, or politics, or demographics.

    Despite the Lakers’ dismal record, newly court-sanctioned head honcho Jeannie Buss insists that Walton is a coach who could “be with us for maybe 15 years.” The suspicion here is that this newly single owner wants Luke to be with HER for that span.
