    @OO:Coach Medrano and others must be idiots in you speak. If ER had not won 3 in a row at the end of the season and beat Norwalk for their first playoff win in forever they would be set for this season. Maybe knocked down to division 12 and get a title against the SEM’s of the world. What a loser he is right.?

    Rosemead’s AD won’t go out and search, they will wait for the applicants .
    Applicants at this time are not the best, only if the ex HC would have announced his one day retirement from football earlier in the year?
    Maybe they hire within, I don’t think they hire outsiders.
    ARROYO fans; I make 50K a year and live in a 2 bedroom Apt, and I go show off my great career to poor people in TJ, WOW! that is what you do show off your muscle in Mission Valley League filled with small schools and hurt by demographics. (except El Monte High)

  3. April 2, 2017 - 8:18 am | Permalink

    There is a reason why those kids go to arroyo over the other schools they should go to. Because Jim Singiser is there! They go where the wins are pure and simple. Let’s see here if I’m a football player and because of open enrollment I have a choice to play for 2nd rate program or the elite program? Now that Paramo is gone Jim is the only quality head coach in the league. Rosemead will have trouble getting back ontrack mountain view is on rebuild mode with no coaches Gabrielino might be better than last year but not by much Marshall will probably fold El Monte is terrible so long as Principal Torres is there . SoEM before the emergence of thier RB, the Eagles were 3-7 and gave up 50 or more points 6 times two years ago that tells me the a whole lot. So to answer my own question I’m going to Arroyo all day and twice on Fridays …

  4. April 1, 2017 - 11:31 pm | Permalink

    What if find impressive is S.El Monte being able to hang with them with for all intents and purposes one kid. Or Rosemead holding them to one offensive score with a defensive end playing Qb and our best defender out with injuries. To me that’s impressive. If the Lakers beat the defenders big deal but if the defenders were to beat Lakers well you can imagine. I’ll give credit where it’s due but in my opinion league needs to be realigned

  5. April 1, 2017 - 11:16 pm | Permalink

    I’m not ripping him for turning himself in persay, Im pointing out he is very intelligent and an even bigger opportunist. With him (Jim) being on the CIF board he knew about the formula and knew he could be sitting pretty if he could get a 2 win season to add to the equation. I’m pointing had they had those wins they forfeited they would’ve played in D10 and got whacked in the first round. This is the equivalent of the Lakers dropping down to the D-league and winning a title there. That is my opinion. No need to call me names. It also my opinion that if Arroyo played in a league that had schools with equal or at least similar population you probably would’ve be having this conversation because time and time again they get into the playoffs against similar student enrollment schools and they get whacked…. Annually! Sure they’ll always win the MVL. They got all the best athletes from El Monte, also they get kids from TC and Arcadia. You’re MVP Camacho what school is he supposed to go to? Give you a hint Mt View. Yezdan Marquez transferred from South Hills but what school was he supposed to go to? Rosemead! if look up and down that roster a lot of the kids live in other school boundaries. So not only does Arroyo have in some cases double the enrollment of most schools in league but they take or get some of the best athletes from those schools. So how impressive is it to be the shark and swim beat up gold fish?
    Cmon now. You put Camacho on the Vikings it’s better for league you put Marquez on Rosemead it’s better for league. Those schools can’t afford to lose players like that and be successful. It takes special kids and special teams to be able to compete with Arroyo annually. I’m not whining just calling it what it is. Put them in Hacienda and if they win I’ll call it impressive. Until then they’re just bullies on the block.

    Anybody who comes on here to disparage a team’s CIF championship probably never played organized sports. The amount of effort and smarts it takes to triumph over a field of 32 quality teams in any division deserves our respect, not our criticism.

  7. April 1, 2017 - 5:51 pm | Permalink

    @ogie
    You might be right about our talent being better than the rest of the league but facts are facts… Camacho is the MVP and Arroyo is the Champions like it or not. Fact is we don’t play in the Hacienda, We play in the MVL…so as long as we do that’s who we’ll worry about. What school are you from?

  8. April 1, 2017 - 12:22 am | Permalink

    @SoCal
    Bonita is the closest to OC school? Wow! Ok Bonita is a good program with potential. Just because it’s an affluent area it’s still not OC. You have an AD who still thinks he’s a coach. You have head coach that allows his AD to act like a coach that equals bad recipe buddy. Medrano at least bounced before he’d let that happen. Bonita is baseball and basketball school is what it is.

  9. April 1, 2017 - 12:18 am | Permalink

    @Friday lies
    Reigning MVP? OMG. LMFAO
    If I filled out a list of the 10 best players in the MVL, Arroyo would have 9 of them. That Qb played catch with his receivers that’s all he did. You guys were far superior to any team in that league. MVP my arse. you plug a MLB in at QB and they’d win lmfao oh wait they did that (Jason Villa) ok ok you can plug a lineman in at Qb at Arroyo and they win lmfao oh wait they did that too (Pantoja)
    Ok here’s one … you can put a soccer player there and they win…. Darn they did that too. I give up. If you took Ernesto Camacho off that team and stayed with Villa, you’re still Champs in D12. So how valuable is he really?

  10. April 1, 2017 - 12:01 am | Permalink

    @knight watch
    Arroyo conveniently reported itself for using an ineligible player (cough cough) thus vacating 6 wins. Old jimbo “I always get my way” Singiser, knew full well what he was doing. So Arroyo forfeited all those wins and gets placed in D12. Anyone who’s anyone knows Arroyo isn’t a D12 team ever!!! They should never drop below 9 at minimum 6-8 is more like it. Jimbo knew if I can get placed in low Division I can finally win it all. then maybe all my short comings and choke jobs will be forgotten. Well it worked they dominated D12 almost choked at the end but got it done now Robledo and Aram and Peterson are so full of praise lol Jim this Jim that. All it cost him was 6 wins two years ago lol. He used and abused the CIF system. When They go up to 8 then we’ll see his true colors. Arroyo has forever been the big fish in the pond that is the MVL.
    Jim loves racking up wins vs teams he’s twice as big as. That dominance will never stop so long as EM can’t find a guy, Rosemead lost their guy, Gabrielino Mt View are too small SEM is too small and the Def. can’t stop a nose bleed. Marshall might fold up the program. Put Arroyo in the Hacienda where they should be. Can’t wait for all the excuses or you never know Old Jimmy might forfeit some more wins to stay in a low division wouldn’t surprise me whatsoever. Asterisk that championship if you ask me.
    From T. Peterson: Wait, so you’re ripping Singiser and Arroyo for reporting itself for a violation? And if he doesn’t report it and CIF catches it then he’s a cheater. Sorry you can’t have it both ways. Make up your mind! That was the most admirable thing he could have done. What choke jobs? What shortcomings? Arroyo has been to the post season for 30 consecutive years except the one year – where he reported itself! Why would he report himself if it meant missing the playoffs if as you say it was self serving? Singiser has won consistently (and now a CIF Championship) with basically the same kids that every school has across the SGV. How? By working hard all spring and summer and coaching them up. His run is actually pretty remarkable when you think about it. Between what him and MacKinnon have done over the last four decades is unprecedented- at least here locally. Of course Aram and Fred at the Trib, and myself have recognized him for his accomplishments. Um…hello! he won a CIF title. You obviously have a problem with Singiser and Arroyo. I don’t know what it is. Jealously? Low self esteem? Whatever the case is it’s a personal problem- your problem, not Arroyo’s. Your comments just make you look foolish.

    Bonita has good athletes. They’re the closest thing to being an OC school. The demographics are perfect for sports team and especially football. Done make it sound like they’re no football players on campus. They get the best players from the LV/SD youth football league. The last two year Bonita’s freshman teams won league in great fashion. No more excuses, just win because you have the athletes and financial resources. When you get good coaching at that school, that sport will win and it proves itself every year. This year boy’s and girl’s basketball first place, water polo first place etc…. The worse thing you can do is make excuses for losing.

    Aguilar is a fine coach. Not as fiery as the previous coach but Bonita will see sharp improvement in the new season. He came into a tough position. The first new coach declined, the second new coach quit because of administration and parental interference and after some time Aguilar was finally offered. Tough circumstances to come into as a third or possibly lower choice. Does not inspire confidence. Bonita typically has small but smart athletes and if they show up and the mama and papa bearcats stay away from the practice field Aguilar will bring them back.

    I am pulling BoHi. I want them to do well and live up to the pass teams and the other programs in the school. Last year the team started off okay and down the stretch they lost 5 league games and came in last place. You know as well as I that a program that is going in the right direction will improve as the season progresses. If they have the same kind of season this year then that is a tell tell sign that we need a change.

    Arroyo, nice cif title but seriously, you guys move up, you lose. You consistently got bounced from the midvalley. If you guys go D10, D9, of D8 you get bounced. Too bad you can’t stay in the DNM Division (DOES NOT MATTER)

    El Rancho is right where they need to be somewhere between D 7-D10. They are doing good things over there.

    Arroyo will get bounced early? Laughable. All skill spots are back with exception of one. Trenches will be bigger and stronger. Plus we have the reigning MVP on our roster remember that! We will be ready regardless of division placement.

    1. Yes they will continue to get recruits because its gonna be the same staff.

    2. Loss of Medrano will take awhile for them toget over.

    3. Comstock will not have enough and hopefully doesnt get hurt trying to put team on his back.

    4. Arroyo will go back to the same Arroyo getting bounced in first or second round.

    5. Amat will not he able to compete in Div. 1 again. If they can’t get Vaughns little brother to go to the school they are in trouble.

    2. Medrano is a huge loss for Bonita, El Rancho starting to build something really nice.
    3. Doubt it, the question I have is will comstock play both ways?
    4. From what I saw at the Lower levels arroyo will struggle when they get bumped.
    5. Until they start doing things the Bosco way they will have a hard time, gotta pay for some athletes to come in…

    Let’s get some football discussion going! I’ll start with some questions:

    1. Will La Mirada keep getting transfers now that Moschetti stepped down and will they keep staying in the state title hunt?

    2. Will Aguilar make the best of the young talent at Bonita or will the loss of Medrano haunt the Bearcats?

    3. Does Comatock have enough of a supporting cast at Northview?

    4. What will happen to Arroyo once they get bumped up?

    5. Will Bishop Amat ever be able to compete in D-1?

    As I reported several weeks ago Los Altos is in a meltdown regarding football. There is a strong contingent in the Los Altos world that would like to reduce the footprint of football at Los Altos. The why can be debated forever but so far these forces are winning as the delay in putting together a staff will positively have a negative effect on the team and incoming players. The only way to save the program is to hire a recognizable name as head coach and that looks more doubtful by the hour. Clearly the school wants zero input from the past football coach and his regime.
