The TEN: 5/5/2017

THE TEN (NEW)(“The TEN” is not a top ten but ten items worth being included in “The TEN”)

1.) Gerald “Daddy Wags” Wagner, long time area youth coach, turns 50 today.

2.) “Every time I think the comments on this board can’t get any dumber, someone manages to prove me wrong. To think that the expression “worst kept secret” is even remotely a commentary on Castaneda is a real effort in willful stupidity. Congratulations, “What’s your problem”; you’ve just made the dumbest ever post on MVS!”—MVS commenter “Mensa We Are Not”

3.) Former USC basketball standout, Harold Miner (Baby Jordan) turns 46 today.

4.) Mid Valley Sports staffer Joe Torosian denies that he has interviewed with El Monte regarding its vacant head coaching football position.

5.) On this date in 1904, Cy Young of Boston pitches perfect game against Philadelphia A’s, 3-0.

6.) As of today: The Los Angeles Dodgers are 15-14, in third place and 3 games back in the National League West…The Los Angeles Angels are 15-15, in second place, and 4.5 games back in the American League West

7.) San Gabriel Matadors…still looking head football coach.

8.) Scott Van Slyke was sent down when Franklin Gutierrez was activated by the Dodgers. Does Cody Bellinger get sent down with Joc Pederson’s return from the Disabled List?

9.) Race has been suggested between Cincinnati Reds Billy Hamilton and Cincinnati Bengals draft pick John Ross.

10.) Groucho Marx on being at a Cricket match in England: “What a wonderful cure for insomnia. If you can’t sleep here, you really need an analyst.”

@Under lying issue, just go away or shut up. You’re either the coach or a close personal friend, I hope it’s the latter but either way you’re way too sensitive and immature for this. Get off the blog and go do something productive you bum.

I called myself “Mensa We Are Not”, not “Mensa You Are Not”. I may have called out a dumb comment for being dumb, but I don’t think any of us is posting during our shift at the think tank. And it’s not about agreeing or disagreeing. 80% of the fun of sports is arguing about them. It’s about so grossly misinterpreting a simple and innocuous statement and choosing to take offense over nothing.

    Awesome.

One thing we are all at attention, so you will need to behave yourself with your platform.

I was correct on you, just a bit of correction your way and the bile begins to flow from your attitude.

Try staying away from the stupid and dumber comments.

And then are we to believe that we must agree with everything you say or write.

And if we don’t we are stupid or we should stay off your blog.

Wow that’s pretty strange. You can call someone stupid but you are above all correction or reproach.

Let’s get some young blood in there to start writting positively about our young talent.

And I still believe there were about 500 other words you could have started the article with.

The quickest way to get out of a ditch is to stop digging.

Ceniseros to El Monte, wow. They really lucked out and had someone fall on their lap. I hope they treat him like a treasure.

#8 The play should be to put A-Gon on the 10 Day DL. Obviously the neck injury has sapped his power, but maybe a couple weeks can give hime time to figure it out.
