The TEN

1. The Mt. View Lady Vikings advanced to the CIF quarterfinals (Division VII) for the first time in school history with a 10-0 win over Amino Leadership Tuesday. They will play Century High on the road Thursday.

2. “Aaron Cantu will be named by Monday the new HC of San Gabriel High School, you could take that to the bank!” – MVS Commenter “DawgHouse”.

3. Because of the one-year stadium delay, NFL owners unanimously voted to push the Los Angeles Super Bowl back a year to February 2022.

4. Center Thomas Welsh and guard Aaron Holiday have withdrawn their names from the NBA draft and will return to UCLA next season.

5. Los Angeles Clippers forward/center Marreese Speights opted out of his contract for the 2017-’18 season.

6. LA Galaxy midfielder Baggio Husidic is out several weeks with a broken leg bone suffered last Sunday in a 2-1 win over Minnesota.

7. Azusa Pacific’s Pablo O’Connor was named PacWest Conference Player of the Year. O’Connor hit .397 with 18 home runs and 64 RBI for the PacWest champs.

8. On this date in 1965 Muhammad Ali knocked out Sonny Liston to retain the heavyweight title.

9. Former Chicago Bear linebacker Brian Urlacher turns 39 today.

10. “Don’t count the days; make the days count.” – Muhammad Ali.

    Well, nothing happened at sghs.

    You know, sghs is only one letter away from the word “sighs.”

    Well good for him. Sounds like he knows the game. However, it would be better if he had a good mentor to tell him that sghs is poison. It’s a death trap. It would be better to get on a good staff and move up.

    Anything would be better than San Gabriel. Hell, I’d even coach soccer before going there if I were him.

    I read either here or on Aram’s blog that San Gabriel had some title 9 bs after a liberal killjoy sued or something. I heard that you can barely fundraise there. NOT FACTS. just what I heard. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong.

    Aaron Cantu, arguably the greatest QB in Schurr Football history. They don’t get much better than that guy…..

    Aaron Cantu I heard was a Schurr alumni and was quarterbacks coach at schurr under coach David Ramos who played for coach Ben negrete. Cantu played football at ELAC.

    Who is this Cantu guy? Must be another desperate coach. Sghs is a mess.
