  3. Jacksonville Jaguar OT Branden Albert announces he wants to unretire, one week after announcing retirement.
  4. Arsenal hosts Leicester City on Friday afternoon to open the Barclay’s Premier League season.
  5. Angels Mike Trout celebrates his birthday with his 1,000 career hit at 26. He became the third player to reach accomplishment on his birthday.
  6. Los Angeles Dodgers have won 13 of their last 14. Didn’t win yesterday, due to off-day.
  7. 35th Running of the Arlington Million will take place on Saturday, August 12. The first running was won by California-based John Henry.
  8. Rams and Chargers both begin pre-season games over the weekend hosting the Cowboys and Seahawks respectively.
  9. 29-years ago today, Wrigley Field played its first night game when the Cubs faced the Phillies. It was rained out in the fourth-inning as the game was played on 8/8/88
