(Los Angeles) – Sam Darnold threw for 316 yards and three touchdowns to lead USC to a 38-10 rout of Oregon State Saturday before 60, 314 at the Coliseum.
Darnold threw TD strikes of 37 yards to Tyler Vaughns and 16 to Deontay Burnett as the Trojans took a 21-3 lead at the half. Ronald Jones also scored on a four-yard run.
In the third quarter, Darnold hooked up with Josh Falo for a 30-yard score. After a 29-yard field goal by Chase McGrath in the fourth, Glendora’s own Matt Fink, who had replaced Darnold, broke off a 51-yard touchdown run on his first series as a Trojan for the final tally of the contest.
Oregon State’s only score came courtesy of a six-yard run by Artavis Pierce in the fourth quarter.
Darnold completed 25 of 35 passes and also threw an interception. The Trojans, who had over 500 total yards on the day, improved to 5-1 on the year as they rebounded from last week’s loss to Washington State. Oregon State fell to 1-5 overall.
@Truth
Your just another hater who probably roots for that JC team that calls Westwood home. If I was you I would start looking for a new HC soon. Mora already has a foot out the door.
Go Trojans! Great win! Great pics and article mvs!
Every time the trOJans win, a fluff write up piece from the mid valley hacks! When they lose…CRICKETS!!!
From T. Peterson: Um, yeah…They lost at Washington State…we cover the home games. What????
