I can agree with almost all your picks, except for Burbank over South Hills, don’t see that happening this year, Burbanks blowout loss to Downey and their loss to Canyon Country who is a shell of what they used to be makes me think South Hills will handle Burbank fairly easily.

    To LA Fan,
Give me a break, not happy with a 13 & 1 season and a trip to the finals? You realize this ain’t the 70’s anymore right?

Wow, you pretty much summed it up. The audacity of some these parents is astounding to me. Unbelievable, and it’s pretty sad.

I wish there was a way I could have los altos coaches heckle the parents and their parenting skills at home and give them some of their own medicine. Because if they are low life enough to be in the stands shouting at the coaches you better believe their would be so much to critique. Lol. Every time they’re kid mouths off or gets a bad grade or does etc… Talk about low hanging fruit.

All the genius parents at Los altos should start their own school and coach their team to a state title. If you are in the stands yelling at the coaches it’s just pathetic you should be embarrased. I’d be ashamed of my parents doing that when I played. The worst part is NONE of you parents at LA have a clue what you’re talking about. I bet you all sit in front of a TV watching the NFL screeming the same ridiculous statements and criticize every call bill belichick makes lol. You guys are pathetic, that’s why everyone on here blast you clowns. Go get a life and stop thinking you’re a coach.

Your hilarious! It’s plain to see parents drive coach’s away quicker than their bad game management does. Whenever you hear a chant going on from the stands “go back to Vegas” you know there is a problem. Will LA parents ever like a coach? Maybe not, someone’s kid is always not going to get enough playing time when their parents think they are a starter. I get that LA was outsized at almost every game and they did better than they were expected to do. The poor principal and AD at LA has their job cut out for them. Parents threatening to sue the school and starting petitions is ridiculous. Best of luck to all the area teams this Friday!

They won’t get dropped you have to be a bottom team in the division

  15. November 13, 2017 - 3:13 pm | Permalink

I agree with Football Fan in regards to Los Altos’ season. They beat the teams they were supposed to beat, and they lost the games they were supposed to lose. This was a brand new coaching staff with a lot of young talent. Their record indicates right where they’re supposed to be. Granted, from what I hear, the jury is still out on this coaching staff. They’ll probably be dropped to division 6 or 7 and given a better opportunity to compete in CIF. They have some solid sophomores returning, so we’ll see.

@JstaMom there not coming back. JstaMom are you doing the hiring and firing? JstaMom in the beginning of season praising the coaches now just because your son ain’t getting a CIF CHAMPS ring they must go? JstaMom gather a coaching staff. I think with all your knowledge of football u can guide LA to a CIF Championship season. Reality LA should be a little better next season.

Sorry to tell you but it wasn’t Gano. It was the Shaun Cody’s Brigham Harwell’s and Felipe Aguilar shows that LA what they were back then. Those are once in a generation teams that come around like the late 80’s Muir teams. Even Bishop Amat can’t find the old glory they once had and they can recruit. Just support your team and cease the unrealistic expectations!

Los Altos had a good season and definitely exceeded the expectations coming into the season. When you lose arguably the best running back the area has seen in the last decade of course you expect a drop off. But they did well and it should be proud of themselves. I didn’t expect them to win a CIF championship because lets be honest no one is beating Paraclete in that division. But if they do drop to Division 6 or 7, then I can definitely see them competing for a championship. In terms of the coaching they took on the challenge and lets not forget they were hired right during spring ball which gave them little time to prepare. I expect them to come out better this next season and give a better performance with a full year of implementing their program.

Of course we’re not happy, we’re never happy! We weren’t happy with last years 13-1 season, nor are we happy now! LA’s 4 losses were all blow-outs, complete domination by the opponent. All the wins were over teams with under 500 records, except for SM in week 0. Ziola’s JV experience wasn’t cutting it, and Spat needs to take his high priced Montview coaches back to the lower divisions. We need GANO back, bad!!!

Ha Ha! Thats a funny post. Throwing in the towel already. Yup, Montebello is going to get smashed by Apple Valley. And NO, Montebello didn’t “topple” over Pasadena Poly. We all know Montebello was given a gift of a first round. And Montebello just squeezed by. Lastly, “outstanding result”? Ha Ha, you are too much!

The Oilers are to be congratulated on toppling Pasadena Poly, and for making the quarterfinals. If Apple Valley should prove to be too much for the Oilers, we hope the death blow will be quick and painless, and that the locals will re-focus in the offseason sufficient to repeat this outstanding result.
