The TEN

(“The TEN” is not a top ten but ten items worth being included in “The TEN”)

1. Todd Gurley rushed for 118 yards and and had 276 all-purpose yards to lead the Los Angeles Rams to a 27-23 win over the Tennessee Titans. With the win, the Rams clinched their first NFC West title since 2003.

2. The LA Chargers beat the New York Jets 14-7 Sunday to keep their playoff hopes alive.

3. The Philadelphia 76ers beat the New York Knicks 105-98 Monday in the first of five televised Christmas Day NBA games.

4. Fresno State beat Houston 33-27 Sunday in the Hawaii Bowl. With the win the Bulldogs, 1-11 last year, finished the season 10-4 under first year head coach Jeff Tedford and became only the second team in FBS history to go from double digit losses one season to double digit wins the next.

5. Pasadena is ranked 19th in the LA Times Prep Basketball Top 25.

6. The Jacksonville Jaguars lost to the San Francisco 49ers 44-33 but clinched their first division title since 1999 when the Rams beat Tennessee.

7. UCLA upset #7 Kentucky 83-75 Saturday.

8. On this day in 1971 the Miami Dolphins beat the Kansas City Chiefs 27-24 in double overtime in an AFC divisional playoff game. At 82 minutes and 40 seconds of play, it is the longest NFL game ever.

9. Happy Birthday to all-time stolen base leader Rickey Henderson who turns 59 today.
