2. After the loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Christmas Day the Lakers are 11-21, the same record they had after 32 games last year.

3. Pasadena beats Corona Centennial 73-70 in OT at the Damien Classic Tuesday night.

4. Kansas State outscores UCLA 28-0 in the second half in a 35-17 win over the Bruins in the Cactus Bowl at Chase Field in Arizona.

5. Utah beats West Virginia 30-14 in the Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl.

6. Bennie Boatwright scored 33 points to lead USC to a 77-72 win over New Mexico State in the championship game of the Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii Monday. Boatwright was named MVP of the Tournament.

7. Cathedral quarterback Bryce Young has reportedly transferred to Mater Dei.

9. On this day in 1976 the Minnesota Vikings beat the Los Angeles Rams 24-13 in the NFC Championship game and the Oakland Raiders beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-7 in the AFC Championship game.

    Too many Bowls with stupid names. If we all pitch in, next year we could see the Mid Valley Bowl from Citrus College.
