5. Rajon Rondo had 25 assists to lead the New Orleans Pelicans to a 128-113 win over the Brooklyn Nets Wednesday night. Rondo, at 31 years, 308 days, became the oldest player in NBA history to record 25 assists in game.

6. The Canadian Football League has approved former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel for a 2018 contract. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats own Manziel’s CFL rights.

7. Covina beat Whittier Christian 70-46 Thursday at the Covina Tournament.

8. The Boston Celtics overcame a 28 point deficit to beat the Houston Rockets 99-98 Thursday night.

9. On this day in 1974 the Minnesota Vikings beat the Los Angeles Rams 14-10 in the NFC Championship game.

10. Also on this day in 1963 the New York Giants beat the Chicago Bears 14-10 to win the NFL Championship.
