1. Oklahoma City guard Russell Westbrook averaged a triple double for the second straight year.

2. The Vegas Golden Knights beat the LA Kings 1-0 Wednesday night to take a 1-0 series lead in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

3. Kings defenseman Drew Doughty was suspended for Game 2 after an illegal check to the head of Vegas’ William Carrier in Game 1.

4. Pasadena’s Tavian Percy is taking an official visit to New Mexico this weekend.

5. New York Knick head coach Jeff Hornacek was fired Thursday morning after the team returned home from their season ending game against Cleveland.

6. NBA Playoff matchups: East: Toronto vs. Washington, Boston vs. Milwaukee, Philadelphia vs. Miami, Cleveland vs. Indiana. West: Houston vs. Minnesota, Golden State vs. San Antonio, Portland vs. New Orleans, Oklahoma City vs. Utah.

7. The Angels are now 11-3 after a 7-1 win over Kansas City Thursday night.

9. On this date in 1997 Tiger Woods wins the Masters at 21 years old shooting a 270 (18 under par).

10. The Cleveland Browns are close to finalizing a long term deal with wide receiver Jarvis Landry that would average more than $15 million per year. Landry was acquired in a trade with Miami last month.

    News out of Cerritos College is that long-time Falcons coach Frank Mazzotta is retiring from his position of head football coach. We thank him for all he has done to further the sport and the lives of his charges. Best wishes coach!
