1. Tiger Woods and Rory McElroy both shot an 8 under par 62 at the first round of the BMW Championship Thursday.

2. The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Atlanta Falcons 18-12 Thursday night to kick off the 2018 NFL season.

3. USC at Stanford, Saturday 5:30 P.M. FOX

4. Former NBA star Kevin Garnett is suing an accountant and his firm, alleging they helped a wealth manager steal $77 million from him.

5. James Connor, a second year player out of Pitt, will start for the Pittsburgh Steelers at tailback Sunday for Le’Veon Bell.

6. Actor Burt Reynolds, who played running back for Florida State as a freshman in 1954 before injuries cut short his career, passed away Thursday at the age of 82.

7. The Angels Shohei Ohtani hit two home runs Wednesday in a win over Texas hours after it was recommended by physicians that he have Tommy John surgery on his right elbow.

8. The Dodgers are 1.5 games behind Colorado in the NL West heading into a three-game series at Colorado beginning Friday night.

9. Former UCLA star and current Cleveland Cavalier forward Kevin Love turns 30 today.

10. Charter Oak, who has started off the season 0-3, will face Damien on the road Friday night.

    #4) Not paying attention in classes in high school and not going to college probably has a lot to do with what happened. Just to show you can’t depend on someone else to take care of your money.

    I wonder how long it’s been since the last time Charter Oak had to go through a rebuilding period of any kind. My best guess is 25 years or so; I remember that the Chargers were working to get themselves established in the early 90’s.

    This season may serve as a wake-up call at Charter Oak, with a return to form next year, but for now the smell is overpowering. I wonder how the Chargers would do with Alhambra.
