High School Softball Area Top 20

Crazy two weeks after the last update of the Top 20.

Bonita was upset in final of the Charter Oak tournament, but enroute to the finals avenged their early season loss to Glendora.

The Top Five didn’t move at all, the most movement was seen in the bottom half of the Top 10 as Covina, Whittier Christian, and Schurr all make their first appearances near the top.

The outside looking in for the moment are Whittier (10-9), Crescenta Valley (10-8), Santa Fe (9-8) and Los Altos (8-8).

  1. Bonita (19-2-1) – Bearcats come up one run short in Charger Classic, but beat Tartans enroute to Title game.
  2. Glendora (16-3) – Tartans sweep two-game series against St Lucy’s but loose crucial semi-final Charger Classic to Bonita.
  3. La Canada (16-3) – Early start against Oak Park eliminated them from Thousand Oaks tournament.
  4. Arroyos (15-1) – Knights score 37 runs in two games this week.
  5. Village Christian (14-3) – Crusaders stumble in El Segundo tournament.
  6. Covina (13-3) – Colts are cruising in the Valle Vista with huge games against Northview and San Dimas this week.
  7. La Salle (13-5) – Lancers might have struggled with post-prom hangover in split against South Pasadena on Saturday.
  8. Whittier Christian (16-6) – Can take control of Olympic league with win over Village Christian this week.
  9. West Covina (12-6) – Swept South Hills two weeks ago, then dropped two straight in San Antonio League.
  10. Schurr (14-6) – Spartans past huge week test with big wins against Alhambra and San Gabriel.
  11. Burroughs (9-7) – Indians are perfect in Pacific League.
  12. Northview (11-7) – Vikings are trying to make the Valle Vista a three team race.
  13. South Hills (15-7-1) – Rough two weeks for Huskies as they dropped two from West Covina and lost to Glendora.
  14. San Marino (10-8) – Titans need to find a way to support their freshmen pitcher with runs.
  15. St Lucy’s (13-9) – Regents upset Bonita for Charger Classic Title.
  16. Burbank (11-7) –Bulldogs need to find their early form prior to postseason.
  17. San Dimas (11-7) – Make or break week for Saints with game against Covina.
  18. California (12-6) – Condors take early lead in Del Rio race.
  19. Keppel (5-1) – Aztecs must update their record.
  20. Monrovia (10-8) – Wildcats couldn’t stay with the likes of Glendora and South Hills.
