Cheap Rings,
tell me exactly how EM push to win CIF has no honor. Sure dude, let’s blame the Coaches & the kids for the fact that CIF put them in that division in the first place. When teams that have been perennial losers for years, are finally able to get the program headed in the right direction, we should cry of unfairness because they are gonna run over and dominate their Division. Give me a break!!! You must be a millennial parent that wants your kid to still get a participation trophy. EM is playing the cards they were dealt…Quit being a hater!
Katella gets the #1 spot because they play chumps and are undefeated! SD, Arcadia, Kaiser, and TV (if they make it in), are the teams with a shot at a ring!
Maybe divisions should be assigned after five games into the season.
Arroyo is still in the top 5 after getting manhandled by El Monte? a Division 13 school? Makes me wonder how these rankings are produced.
With so-cal playing arguably the best football in the country these teams in every division that are in the top ten are very good.
I couldn’t agree with you more. In fact I would go one further and go back to the old way and do the playoff divisions by league again but use the releaguing cycle for competive equity! So schools like Monrovia don’t get free passes to the playoffs every year and better teams schools sit home because they in a tough league. How fun would it be to have Monrovia Arroyo San Marino Muir and Arcadia in the same league for 4 years. I could go on and on and create competive leagues and put all the perennial losers in the same league in lower divisions give the little guy a real chance instead of the farce they got going now!
In the coming weeks, the El Monte Lions are going to drop a figurative nuclear bomb on the playoff contenders of division 13. Is this what CIF means by the phrase “victory with honor?” Maybe if they were to given divisional assignments AFTER the regular season instead of before, things would be a tad more “honorable.”
