4. The Brooklyn Nets (14-18) beat the Lakers 115-110 to drop LA to 18-13.

5. The Rams sign running back C.J. Anderson and waive WR Pharoh Cooper.

6. New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady ties an NFL record with his 14th Pro Bowl selection.

7. The Angels sign former New York Mets pitcher Bryan Harvey to a one-year, $11 million deal.

8. The Chicago Cubs signed infielder Daniel Descalso to a two-year, $5 million deal.

9. The Bryce Harper sweepstakes.

10. Former Boston Celtics star Kevin McHale turns 61 today.

    II million dollar gamble for one year on a guy that is damaged goods with an attitude problem. Angels at it again. They could sign 20 college phenoms for that kind of money. Should have just kept Garrett Richards if they like DL pitchers.

    That Lakers-Nets game sounds like it had all the excitement of a slow-motion funeral. In a perfect world, we’d shrink the state football finals down to that single D-1 game, and lop about 40 games off the never-ending NBA season.
