A topsy-turvy two weeks for the Top 20 Mid Valley Softball teams as the race for the top spot, saw many teams stumble with unexpected losses. Quite possibly a very controversial new #1 choice, but defeating a defending Division champ and current league leader is quite impressive.
- Village Christian (18-5) – The Olympic is the toughest League in the area and they knocked off Division VI champ Marymount last Saturday.
- Bonita (20-4) – Bearcats finally stop three-game skid with win over Diamond Ranch.
- Glendora (18-4) – Tartans swept St. Lucy’s, then stumbled to 14-14 Chino Hills.
- La Canada (20-4) – Lack of offense is a concern for pitching deep Spartans.
- Northview (18-5) – Vikings have outscored their opponents 48-6 in last three games.
- Whittier Christian (18-7) – Heralds are in the hunt for a Olympic League title and defending Champs.
- Schurr (17-6) – Spartans on the verge of sweeping the Almont League.
- Arroyo (18-2) – Upset loss to Gabrielino doesn’t derail MVL title, but does hurt getting #1 ranking in Mid Valley rankings.
- La Salle (18-6) – Lancers split a pair against Temple City and enroute to going undefeated in Camino Real.
- West Covina (16-7) – Bulldogs have a full week to get ready for first round matchup in playoffs.
- Burbank (17-7) – Big game against Crescenta Valley looms for Bulldogs title hopes.
- San Marino (15-5) – Titans can’t afford to slip up the rest of the way, if they want to be co-champs of Rio Hondo.
- Valley Christian (15-7) – Crusaders need to beat Whittier Christian this week for at least a part of the Olympic League title.
- San Dimas (16-7) – Saints are beginning to roll at the perfect time.
- Keppel (16-2) – Aztecs only two blemishes are to Schurr.
- California (20-6) –Condors are doing everything right in Del Rio League.
- South Hills (17-7-1) – Huskies had every chance to win San Antonio League but couldn’t get past West Covina.
- Charter Oak (16-11) – Chargers are on a six-game winning streak.
- Crescenta Valley (15-9) – Falcons have rattled off nine-games in row and are in the hunt for Pacific League.
- Maranatha (15-10) – Minutemen have not lost since April 10 in sweep against La Canada.
