3. Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Jarran Reed has been suspended for the first six games for a violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

4. The Washington Wizards are set to offer guard Bradley Beal a three-year, $111 million contract extension.

5. The Dodgers will host the Angels Tuesday and Wednesday at Dodger Stadium.

6. The Chicago White Sox have become the first team in the major leagues to extend protective netting from foul pole to foul pole.

7. Irishman Shane Lowry won the Open Sunday in Northern Ireland.

8. Former Notre Dame/Oakland Raider receiver and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Brown turns 53 today.

    #6 Good, so now their 2 fans are safe. Seriously it’s long overdue for every stadium. I didn’t see if that was included in the $100 million off season improvements at Dodger Stadium. Absolutely should be!

    With no malice intended, I submit that Tim Duncan looks like a very tall version of Steven Spielberg’s E.T. Hopefully the man’s coaching efforts will be out of this world as well.
