1. Sierra Vista will play Monarch (Colorado) in Week 1 next year on a Thursday night. Monarch is a 4A team ranked in the top 10 in the division.

2. With the 24-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football, the Chargers dropped to 4-7 overall and are just 1/2 game ahead of the last place Denver Broncos in the AFC West.

3. San Clemente has been removed from the CIFSS football playoffs due to an ineligible player. Chaminade will advance to the Division 2 Championship game to face either Sierra Canyon or Rancho Cucamonga.

4. UCLA is off to a 4-0 start after a 76-61 win over Southern Utah Monday night at Pauley Pavilion.

5. The Houston Astros sign stealing scandal.

6. College Football Playoff Rankings: 1. LSU 2. Ohio St. 3. Clemson 4. Georgia 5. Alabama.

7. La Serna, Crescenta Valley, El Monte, and Alhambra all enter the semi finals undefeated.

8. UCLA at USC, Saturday, LA Memorial Coliseum 12:30 p.m.

9. San Dimas will be at home for the third straight week this Friday night against North Torrance in the semi finals.

10. On this day in 1997 A.C Green of the Dallas Mavericks set an NBA record of 907 consecutive games played. Green went on to play in 1,192 consecutive games, still an NBA record.

    After that showing on Monday night, they should just stay in Mexico City. Viva Los Chargers !!

    I’ve heard that the Chargers are considering leaving Los Angeles, and I for one welcome their departure. Logic says the team should go back to San Diego and beg forgiveness of their loyal fan base, but as we know, logic is not in this ownership’s DNA.
