1. The Boston Red Sox named bench coach Ron Roenicke interim manager.

2. The Jacksonville Jaguars named former New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo as quarterbacks coach.

3. Quarterback Philip Rivers will not return to the Chargers next year and will become a free agent the team announced.

4. AP College Basketball Top 5: 1. Baylor 2. Gonzaga 3. Kansas 4. San Diego State 5. Louisville.

5. The Lakers have the best record in the Western Conference at 40-12.

6. Bishop Amat at Schurr CIF Division 3AA Playoffs, Wednesday night 7:00 p.m.

7. MLB is considering changes to its postseason starting in 2022. The new format would add four more teams to the playoff slate and the team with the best record in each league would get a first round bye. The other two division winners and the wild card team with the best record could end up picking their opponents in a televised seeding showdown.

8. The APU Men’s basketball team has now won 14 straight games after an 82-48 win over Hawaii Pacific Monday night.

9. Luke Fickell has decided to remain the head football coach at Cincinnati after interviewing for the same position at Michigan State.

10. NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III turns 30 today.

    A watering down of the playoffs with teams that should not be there sucks! Everyone gets a trophy generation.
