Nogales Names Martinez

(La Puente) – Nogales has named former Sonora head coach Gus Martinez as its new head football coach Fred Robledo of SGVN Sports reported Tuesday.

Martinez takes over for Oscar Robles who resigned in December after two years at the helm. Nogales went 1-9 last season.

Martinez, who was previously the co-head coach at Fullerton for five years, went 3-7 last year in his only season at Sonora.

    All a negative test means is that you have not caught it yet. As soon as you leave the test site and grab a burger…tada!

    The timing of this hire gives Martinez ample time to prepare for the 2021 season, which is the first time I can conceive of seeing high school football being played again. Gus can get a head start on recruiting the most valuable athletes there are in this day-and-age: those who have tested negative.
