  1. Former MLB star Dick Allen passed away Monday at the age of 78.  Allen played nine seasons with the Phillies, and also spent time with the Chicago White Sox, Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals and the Oakland A’s during a 15-year career. Allen won the 1972 AL MVP Award, 1964 NL Rookie of the Year Award and earned seven All-Star selections.
  2. The New York Jets fired DC Gregg Williams Monday after the Jets allowed a game winning touchdown pass from Derek Carr to Henry Ruggs with five seconds left in a 31-27 loss to the Raiders Sunday. 
  3. The Washington Football Team beat the previously undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers 23-17 Monday. 
  4. Chuck Yeager, a retired U.S Air Force officer, who became the first pilot in history to have exceeded the speed of sound in level flight, passed away Monday at the age of 97.  
  5. The Seattle Sounders beat Minnesota United 3-2 Monday night in the Western Conference Finals. They will play the Columbus Crew Saturday in the MLS Final.  
  6.  The Michigan-Ohio State game scheduled for Saturday was canceled due to increased COVID-19 cases on the Michigan roster. 
  7. The Philadelphia Eagles will start Jalen Hurts at quarterback against the New Orleans Saints Sunday. 
  8. College Football Playoff Rankings, Top 5: 1. Alabama 2. Notre Dame 3. Clemson 4. Ohio State 5. Texas A&M. 
  9. Houston Rockets guard James Harden has indicated that he’s open to a trade to the Philadelphia 76ers or another contender. 
  10. The USC-UCLA rivalry is Saturday at the Rose Bowl at 4:30 p.m. on ABC.

    The game still means something to people who attended the schools. To this day, I do not even own a piece of red clothing. Go Bruins!

    First I need to say I could care less about either team. A pox on both their houses

    1. I expect a lot of dirty play and late hits, as both teams have displayed poor sportsmanship in other games they played, and with the rivalry on the line, this will ratchet up to new levels.
    2. The 2 1/2 point spread looks suspect at best, USC and give up a field goal is a lock

    The 2 1/2 point spread on the game is crazy.

    #10 just doesn’t have any excitement this season.
