(San Dimas) – San Dimas hit the practice field Saturday morning in preparation for the 2021 Spring season. It’s been close to 15 months since the Saints had a game on the horizon but it’s finally here.

“It might be a little ugly at first,” said San Dimas head coach Mark Holman. “We’ve only been out for a few days. But it’s good to be out.”

“We’re excited. It’s great to finally be out here and it’s great for the seniors,” said DC Danny Lopez. “But now we need to get them ready quick. We’ll stick to the basics.”

The Saints will rely on a core group of seniors that are returning. Quarterback Ryan Bulick and RB/DB Ben Goodrich are back, as well as big offensive lineman Dylan Arriaga and running back Jacob Buccola. Buccola plays defense as well.

The seniors will be complemented by a solid group of underclassmen that will be in the mix as well. Freshman Decker DeGraaf will be at linebacker and tight end and Teyondre Coleman, sophomore, will play linebacker and can fill in at quarterback when needed. Look for Arturo Orozco, linebacker and Tye Coleman to make some noise as well.

“We are progressing. We got better every rep. We ended where we needed to be at this point,” Holman added after practice.

The Saints will scrimmage Friday night at Monrovia followed by five regular season games.
