Farrar Spoils Homecoming

(Covina) – Vincent Farrar threw four touchdown passes for Charter Oak in their 42-13 victory over South Hills, Friday night at Covina District Field.

The Huskies got the ball first but the first play of the game Aaron Mangan picked off Daylon Ware.

The Chargers capitalized and Farrar hit Gabriel Valenzuela for his first touchdown of the game. 

After a three and out for South Hills and a short punt on third and long Farrar hit Nathan Alvarado in stride for a 40-yard score making it 14-0 with over nine minutes to play in the first quarter. 

The Huskies drove down field and Ware hit a short three yard pop pass to tight end Dylan Ward to cut into the lead. 

South Hills defense held the next series making Charter Oak punt. And the Huskies used their run game and Jacob Del Rio scored from three yards out but a blocked extra point made it 14-13.

The Chargers took over from there as Farrar hit Valenzuela again this time he dodged two defenders and took it 63-yards to paydirt. Running back Rey Fierro would also find the end zone in the third quarter with a pounding two yard run. 

Farrar threw his fourth touchdown of the game early in the fourth quarter when he found Sam Mason in the back of the end zone. The super sophomore running back finished off the scoring with a 19-yard bulldoze into the end zone making it 42-13. 

Charter Oak got outstanding play from sophomores Jayden Alexander and Bishop Turner.

Farrar finished 18 of 25 for 250-yards and four scores. Orozco had 16-carries most coming in the fourth quarter for 118 yards and his score. 

Ware fished with a disappointing 7 of 24 for 41-yards with a touchdown and interception for the Huskies. 

Charter Oak finishes their spring football season 1-2 while South Hills went 0-2.
