The Panthers led by six at the end of the first quarter, extended it to 16 at halftime and led by 20 in the third quarter.  Leading 49-33 at the end of the third quarter, Poly went on an 8-0 run to open the fourth to go up 57-33.

At that point everybody in the packed gym at Arcadia High School knew it was game, set, match. The only thing left to be decided was the final score. Although that was indeed the case Apaches did have one run left in them. they outscored Pasadena Poly 21-8 the rest of they way to make it interesting.

When Shant Chenohavorian hit a three pointer with 26 seconds left Arcadia was down by only five at 59-54. That was as close as the Apaches got however as Jack Williamson hit a pair of free throws and Poly made a stop at the other end to put it away. Dimitri Mendoza hit two more from the charity stripe to account for the final tally.

Willamson got the Panthers gong early with 10 points in the first quarter as Poly led 17-11 after one. Brandon Szeto heated up in the second quarter knocking down a pair of threes and Justin Odibo scored eight that led to a 35-19 halftime bulge.

In the third quarter Pasadena Poly built the lead to 20 but Arcadia battled back and the teams played it even at 14 in the quarter but that still left the Apaches down by 16 heading into the final frame.

The Panthers actually won the game early in the fourth when they ripped off eight straight points to stretch it to 24 leaving Arcadia in too big of a hole to overcome.

For Pasadena Poly Odibo led the way with 20 points and Williamson had 16. Szeto was also in double figures with 10 and Kareem Ammar finished with 6.

For Arcadia Colin O’Malley and Chenohavorian both scored 14 but nobody else had more than 8 points. Damien Jennings scored 8 and Adrian Hernandez and Tim Kwon each had 6.

Arcadia finished the season with an overall record of 11-8 while Pasadena Poly raises the Division 4AA banner.
