  1. Trae Young scored 48 points to lead the Atlanta Hawks to a 116-113 win over the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals Wednesday night.
  2. The Clippers beat the Phoenix Suns 106-92 Thursday night in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals. Phoenix leads the series 2-1.
  3. The Padres beat the Dodgers 5-3 Wednesday night to complete a three-game sweep of the series. The Cubs beat the Dodgers 4-0 on Thursday night as Zach Davies and three relievers combined on a no-hitter.
  4. Former New York Yankees great Yogi Berra, who passed away at the age on 90 in 2015, got a U.S. postage stamp in his honor. 
  5. Former Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle signed a four-year deal to be the head coach of the Indiana Pacers. It’s Carlisle’s second stint with the Pacers.
  6. John Perez was named the new head football coach at Paraclete. Perez, who was an assistant at Paraclete, takes over for Dean Herrington who took over as the new head coach at St. Francis. 
  7. The 2021 Holiday Bowl will be played at Petco Park in San Diego matching the Pac-12 and the ACC. 
  8. The NFL will allow alternate helmets with throwback uniforms starting in 2022. 
  9. On this day in 1997 the San Antonio Spurs selected Wake Forest center Tim Duncan with the first overall pick in the NBA draft.

    Duncan’s alma mater has been neutered by the new wave of noise-makers….its new name is Woke Forest.
