@ Four: I hope you stay healthy. I received my two shots several months ago and I’m still standing. The Covid-19 vaccines appear to be having a beneficial effect on nearly everyone; only those who are known to be allergic to vaccinations should be skipping these shots.
In the end, each person has to make his or her own heath care decisions, but it’s essential that we collectively do the right thing when it comes to Covid-19.
The statistics back me up on this. The fact that the Delta variant is overwhelmingly spreading among the unvaccinated speaks volumes. Ending this pandemic and getting back to a normal routine never should’ve become a political issue.

Yes, indeed it must be nice for a guy like Aaron Rodgers to have the luxury to hold out for better money or working conditions when so many people are really hurting. And while he’s extremely fortunate to be in that position, he also worked very hard to be there. So good for him for standing up for himself. Literally any one of us could get shafted by our employer if we were to listen to that “Why are you complaining? So many people would love to have your job.” nonsense. While I appreciate that my workplace has no need to install nets, like an Apple factory in China, to keep workers from clocking out permanently, it doesn’t mean that I am willing to accept everything they want me to accept if I reasonably believe I have negotiating power. Likewise, those Chinese workers at the Apple factory should not be mollified by being reminded that it’s a step up from a Uighur re-education camp.

Regarding women announcing baseball, the greatest play-by-play man in the history of sports never achieved anything as an athlete. It doesn’t matter. You don’t need the experience to understand the game, to communicate it well, or to generate enthusiasm. On the other hand…while it is 100% sexism to say, “I don’t want to listen to a couple of women announcing a baseball game”…I actually don’t really want to listen to a couple of women announcing a baseball game. But there are enough lousy male announcers out there that I’m not going to get too worked up about it. Maybe they’ll be gppd. Whatever.

It’s clear that Anthony Fauci is a crooked operator, so I propose he be replaced by Ron Vrooman, as he seems to have the exact information on all things Covid. There’s isn’t a shadow of a doubt: Ron was there to tabulate and verify all the figures being reported by our whistle-clean media.

Vin Scully did not pay pro baseball, golf and other sports he called. A lot of it is being prepared and going past what is happening on the field. But clearly announcers that were pitchers or catchers can offer a lot as far as identification of pitches and situational discussions.

That sort of thing is great, especially for the kids that want to play baseball and pick up game play and strategy.

Announcers that are homers, and spend most of their time talking about how great a home town player is and discussing the food at the ball park, are next to worthless. They can be technically good at giving the score and what the count is, but there a a lot more to it.

IN that respect many women announcers are at great disadvantage. They may be technically apt at the craft, but their offering is like the less filling part of Lite Beer

In many cases such as college football, it appears they are held onto, due to box checking rather than outstanding skill. In all cases it should be merit that carries the day. If you are good at it, then good for you woman or man. But it would be a big mistake to keep a bad announcer due to gender.

    @ False: Good insight.

@ LA: I believe the “RAMS FAN” moniker is a reference to his being a Temple City High School fan, which is perfectly OK as far as I’m concerned. But, I’ll agree with you that he doesn’t really know what he’s talking about here. Some of the girls and women who play fast-pitch softball have been known to throw 90+ miles per hour. That’s why the batters have those metallic facemasks attached to their helmets.

@ Four: By “virus regimentation,” are you (for instance) referring to getting a Covid-19 vaccination, or to dying of Covid? If getting my shots and taking other actions to protect myself and others from a devastating disease constitutes “regimentation,” then I’m all for it.
We’re not through the pandemic yet, and nearly every single person who has died from Covid during the last seven months was not vaccinated. By the way, death is about as regimented as one can get.
I might agree with you about Aaron Rodgers, though; he’s refusing a huge amount of additional money from his once-favorite team. Rodgers must hate being with the Packers now.

If a KC Royal female broadcaster was sitting on a couch with a short skirt like on Fox News I’d switch to a KC fan from a Dodger fan.

Maybe Aaron Rodgers just doesn’t want to play for the woke “Football is Gay” league anymore. He certainly doesn’t need to. And after what he saw it do to spineless Brees, could be a smart move.

Are you talking about baseball commentary or watching The View? Baseball and softball are so different you can’t compare them. Field size, base paths, pitching distance, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I love softball and think it’s a much faster, more entertaining game than baseball. But I want a guy telling me about a guys game, not some flavor of the week. Is the NFL next?

Being a long time GB Packer Fan I must address this announcement. By doing this the organization is trying to CTOA’s. Arron is going to make $38 million this year. That’s what the cap hit is going to be. The announcement does not say how much money is guaranteed. Maybe they add 2-3 mil to what he going to get anyway. Then trade him next year? How about securing the line . The Center is gone, Left Tackle Baktiari coming off of season ending injury and get him a great TE that can block, run a route, and catch a pass down the seam. No disrespect to Drew Breeze but, Facts are facts, if Aaron was the QB of NO Saints they win the Super Bowl especially with the talent that team had last year.

It’s play by play and commentary. Having played softball/baseball gives the same background knowledge. Whats important isn’t that you played in the majors. Most announcers were pros. They just need to sound interesting, give some background info, and keep a good flow.

At this time of declining fortunes and virus regimentation, it must be nice to have the luxury of saying no to the biggest pile of money ever offered in an NFL contract. You don’t see Bryce Young turning his nose up to the relative pittance being tossed his way, do you?

#7 Because women know so much about baseball they can relay to the audience what’s going on inside a players head when that 95 mph heater coming at his melon. Please! GTFO
