@ Vax Facts: I understand your concerns. I support something like Medicare for All, or at least a public option for health insurance. I’ve long believed that our primarily profit-driven health care system is fatally flawed. We pay more for care than people in most other industrialized nations, yet our results frequently fall short. In addition, too many people in the U.S. often have to go without.

We’ve been able to go about our business more freely here since the pandemic restrictions were largely lifted sic weeks ago, but we could lose that freedom if this Delta variant gets out of control. I hope that doesn’t happen because it will mean more deaths, and our lives will be further restricted again. Be careful and stay healthy.

I’ll never say that government should forcibly shut down businesses and restrict the activities of a so-called free people. By the way, notice that with all the restrictions of the last year or so, our officials are telling us that the problem is still severe. What is the endgame here? When will freedom be reinstated?
With government helping the insurance industry to maintain a price-gouging health care monopoly, is it realistic to think that government really cares about our health to any appreciable extent? They tell us a story that helps themselves and their friends to the biggest payouts–period. Believe these money-mongers at your own peril; they are in the business of social control…always have been, always will be.

@ Vax Facts: Perhaps the doctors’ group you mentioned is politically polarized, just like almost every other part of our society is right now. I’ll also point out that the American Medical Association has traditionally been conservative, so maybe the AAPS has a similar leaning. But I’m only guessing here; I need more information about them in order to make a definitive comment.
To say that the Covid-19 vaccines currently in use are “experimental” and that we are all just test subjects is a distortion. The FDA gave emergency-use authorizations for the Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines after months of clinical trials involving thousands of volunteers. Those volunteers were the test subjects. It’s only a matter of time before the vaccines get final FDA approval.
Maybe you can admit that the approval process had to be fast-tracked to some degree because we’re dealing with a dire public health situation. But, clinical trials were conducted nonetheless before the vaccines were made available to the general public.
I don’t condone price-gouging or profiteering by any companies, and I believe that pharmaceutical corporations should be strictly regulated because of their direct impact on our health. However, they’ve really come through for us in producing effective Covid-19 vaccines. I’ve received mine and I have no complaints. Hopefully, the vast majority of people who get their vaccinations will continue to do well.

A June, 2021 survey by the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (of 700 doctors) reveals that 60% of them are not fully vaccinated. Hmm…maybe they aren’t comfortable with the fact that these shots are experimental, and are making test subjects of the general population. Maybe their experiences with patients’ adverse reactions to these vaccines have made them hesitant to roll up their sleeves. What we do know is that the pharma companies who are pushing these shots are NOT LIABLE for whatever happens after you get jabbed. We also know these things have created nine new billionaires among the ranks of the drug companies. What’s not to like about that?

@RV: It is pointless to argue science with antivaxers/Trumpers. Like the Trumper Alabama Governor said in trying to explain anti vaxers “ain’t people supposed to have common sense”? Like the people dying of covid say ” can I have a shot now?” Can’t argue with stupid.

@ RAMS FAN: As has been extensively discussed by health experts, no vaccine is 100 per cent effective. That is due to a variety of factors, including depressed immune systems or other serious pre-existing medical conditions that some people unfortunately have.
But, it’s remarkable that all of the Covid-19 vaccines have generally been at least 85-90 per cent effective against infection up to now. In contrast, flu shots typically have been anywhere from 40 per cent to maybe 70 per cent effective over the last several decades.
Statistical data have shown that, despite some breakthrough infections, the Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines have been highly effective at preventing hospitalizations and deaths from Covid-19. That’s the most important thing of all.
It’s becoming increasingly clear that the Delta variant, which is now the dominant strain of Covid-19 in the U.S., is the most powerful form of the disease that we’ve seen so far. It’s more contagious and deadlier, and I believe it’s the primary reason why we’re starting to see a drop in vaccine effectiveness.
It’s more important now than ever before for unvaccinated people to get their shots so we can keep the Delta variant from killing a lot more people and possibly mutating into something that could render our current vaccines useless. I’m not saying it’s inevitable, but it could happen if our vaccination rates in the U.S. continue to lag. One piece of good news is that we’re doing somewhat better here in California compared to most of the country.
I’m tired of lockdowns and failed re-openings. Please get vaccinated, people; you’ll be helping yourselves, your families, and everyone else.

99% effective means people who get the vaccine will still test positive they just won’t be the ones filling up the hospitals.

#1 &#5 As people who have been vaccinated are testing positive for covid it begs the question, do those vaccinated people get the same punitive actions the un-vaccinated will get? If you get covid after getting the vaccine why get the vaccine?

Not just players the NFL will be losing because of the policies. Fans are becoming ex-fans. Their latest add – FOOTBALL IS GAY, etc is not helping.
    Thank God for HS Football!
