  1. UCLA beat Stanford 35-24 Saturday to improve to 3-1 on the season. 
  2. Texas beat Texas Tech 70-35 Saturday to improve to 3-1. 
  3. The Rams bear the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 34-24 Sunday at SoFi Stadium Sunday to improve to 3-0 on the year. 
  4. The Chargers held on to beat the Kansas City Chiefs 30-24 Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium. After the game Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was taken to the hospital after feeling ill. 
  5. Justin Tucker kicked an NFL record 66-yard field goal to lift the Baltimore Ravens to a dramatic 19-17 win over the Detroit Lions Sunday. 
  6. Oregon St. racked up 535 total yards including 322 on the ground in a 45-27 win over USC Saturday night at the Coliseum. By comparison the Trojans had only 76 yards rushing. 
  7. Monrovia receiver Carlos Hernandez is third in the state and ninth in the nation in receiving yards with 774. 
  8. The Dodgers have now won 100 games with a 3-0 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday but are still two games behind the San Francisco Giants with six remaining. 
  9. The Americans won the Ryder Cup with a 19-9 victory over Europe Sunday.   
  10. California at El Rancho, Friday night 7:00 p.m.

    Nice to see so many hating on The Ranch again. It’s when nobody throws rocks at your team that you should worry. Better get there early for the Cal game. Ranch coaches vs.Ranch coaches. Should be a hoot. My pick is the team with fewer personal fouls win. Discipline wins.

    ER-Cal will determine who gets the second playoff spot from the Del Rio, but I prefer the death-struggle between Whittier and Santa Fe on the same night. ER and Cal are vying for a boost in what are already successful campaigns, whereas Whittier and SF are fighting to avoid extinction.
