Walnut is siting environmental concerns regarding the stadium’s impact, traffic concerns, and of course money.

Environmentally all the work has been done. There are no endangered species.

Traffic wise they are raising concerns about congestion during game and event days.

“The largest junior college in America, Mount San Antonio College, has over 30,000 cars roll in every day. Eighty percent of the traffic exciting on game days will be coming through Diamond Bar,” said Project Manager Semckn. “Only nine percent will go through Walnut.”

In regards to money. “Ed Roski is building this stadium with his own dollars, no public funding, this property privately owned,” said Semeckn.

The deadline for any new lawsuits has passed. As of now a citizens group in Walnut has filed suit against the stadium deal as well as the City of Walnut.

“By law they will have to enter into a mandatory settlement period, where they will have to meet with us to settle the lawsuits,” said Semeckn. “Here is where you will find out what they really want. Is the concern for the city or something else?”
