No one is stopping your kid from going to the parh and shooting hoops. Schools are deciding for themselves if they want to play team sports. Some are many are not. Many people do not want to risk their kid getting Covid even if death is very rare. The complications after infection from this deadly disease that has killed close to a million in less than two years in the USA is not fully known but so far it does not look like recoveries are not without a big cost to ones future health.

@EndofSeaason. Dude. Just stop. The only people that are failing are people like you that cannot see the pandemic for what it is: a global health emergency. Do you not understand the fact that people pushing for individual freedom (just so long as it doesn’t apply to women, people of color, voting rights, LGBTQ+, etc.) are prolonging the situation? Take the jab, wear a mask and get over yourself. You can also remove the quotes around emergency since nearly a million Americans have died of COVID, or do they not matter? So please, you and your ilk just need to stop, and instead of spreading your toxic attitude online, go and help do something to make the world a better place.

The extended panic associated with Covid has effectively cancelled all high school basketball in the area. This makes me wonder: how long is an ’emergency’ supposed to last? When will the health authorities who are failing so spectacularly finally back off and let individuals decide how they wish to handle this new reality?
