Bradley’s Big Fourth Quarter Sparks Chargers

(Covina) – Marquis Bradley scored the first 15 points of the fourth quarter to lead Charter Oak to a 43-38 win over San Dimas Friday night on the Chargers home floor.

Down 34-26 after the third quarter Bradley, a freshman, went on his own personal 15-0 run to open the fourth to give Charter Oak a 41-34 lead. Bradley knocked down three three-pointers during the run as well as three other medium range jumpers. He hit a basket to open the quarter, missed his next shot, then nailed his next five shots. Bradley finished with a game high 20.

By the time dust and Bradley’s fire had settled San Dimas found itself down by seven and was never able to get back in the hunt. The Saints scored just four points in the fourth quarter getting outscored 17-4.

San Dimas led after each quarter going into the fourth. The Saints led 19-13 after one as Nathan Kester scored eight points in the first quarter including two from beyond the arc. San Dimas buried four threes in the first quarter but after that the Saints cooled off.

San Dimas scored six points in the second quarter but still maintained the six-point lead as Charter Oak could only match the six-point quarter.

San Dimas still led by eight after three before Bradley took over in the final frame.

For Charter Oak, Elijah Lum joined Bradley in double figures with 12 and Samuel Lizardo had 5. Malachi Otero led the Saints in scoring with 11 and Kester finished with 10. DJ Wiliams contributed 7.

Charter Oak improved to 10-9 overall with the victory and 1-0 in the Valle Vista. San Dimas is 12-4 and 1-1.
