  1. Former South Hills star/ MLB player Jeremy Giambi passed away at the age of 47. 
  2. The Philadelphia 76ers acquired James Harden from the Brooklyn Nets for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry and Andre Drumond and two first round draft picks. Paul Millsap is also going to Philadelphia. 
  3. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred announced Thursday that the designated hitter will now be in both the American and the National League starting this season. 
  4. American snowboarder Chloe Kim won the gold medal in the halfpipe event at the Winter Olympics in Beijing. 
  5. The SGV Shootout at Arroyo on June 25th is the same day as the Bonita Air Assault. 
  6. “This is the lowest point of just about any season I’ve seen as a Laker.” – James Worthy after the Lakers 107-105 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers Wednesday night. 
  7. Maranatha at Crescenta Valley, 1st Round CIF Division 2A Playoffs, Friday night.

  9. The idea of returning as the head football coach at Rosemead was “pitched” to Matt Koffler but it is unlikely that it will happen.

    Does James Worthy recall the night back in 1990 when he was jailed on two counts of soliciting prostitution? Now THAT was a low point.
